About Rubinoff

Mark C. Schneider
President, The Rubinoff Company

Mr. Schneider’s interest in the development of the Pittsburgh area led him to a career in community development and real estate. He has held positions with the Northside Civic Development Council and the Northside Leadership Conference. Mr. Schneider served as a consultant to private enterprise also involved in development of the region. He is currently the President of The Rubinoff Company.

Topping the list of his diverse accomplishments are Washington's Landing and Summerset at Frick Park. Washington's Landing, recipient of the 1998 Phoenix Award, is one of Pittsburgh's most notable mixed-use riverfront developments, combining residential, recreational, office and light industrial users.

On the trails of Washington’s Landing, under Mr. Schneider’s charge, The Rubinoff Company was chosen as the lead member of a development team for Summerset at Frick Park, a 240-acre slag dump, which was transformed into a “traditional neighborhood development.”

Mr. Schneider recently held board positions with the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh and NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Parks), Western Pennsylvania Chapter. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Stadium Authority and the Sports and Exhibition Authority, the agency responsible for the development of Heinz Field, PNC Park and the expanded David Lawrence Convention Center. Mr. Schneider is an active member of 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania, a statewide smart growth advocacy group. His experience in “brownfield” development has made him a sought-after speaker across the country and in Eastern Europe where he has participated in forums with local foundations and experts on “brownfield” reclamation.

Mr. Schneider 's varied work experience and current involvement in community organizations has kept him in the forefront of community development in the Pittsburgh area.
